Ceres Night Stand | A rare night blooming
Installation with video monitor and vinyl graphics, 8 minute loop, 4.5' x 10' x 3', 2010
The Night Blooming Ceres is a member of the Cactus family that is quite uneventful most of the year. It is rarely seen in the wild because of its inconspicuousness. But one summer night each year, its flower opens as night falls, then closesand dies with the early morning sun. This often unseen moment is depicted here in an 8 minute time-frame loop in repeat much like the flower patterned environment that envelops and juxtaposes it.
